Where should i buy domains or TLD top level domains like .com from? I’m trying to buy direct so i know i won’t have to pay a ton of money if i make a site and want to renew. I also want to try to buy it for like 100 years or the maximum limit. I also know domain forwarding is only to your ip address of where you host the site. So no need to give extra info

How To Buy A .Com Domain Name
How To Buy A .Com Domain Name

Is it really worth it to buy a .com domain name? Many sites will tell you how to buy a .com domain name , alongside many other domains. The .com is the pinnacle of domains when it comes to search rankings. You can use .org or .net but you may get different results as they were designed with different purposes in mind. Organizations typically use .org, and networking technology sites use .net. There are many others as well, such as .gov for United States government entities, .edu for educational establishments, and .biz for businesses. Of course, these are only what the extensions are designed for. What they are actually used for is to the discretion of the domain owner.
A .net domain is virtually identical to .com today, and if the option to buy a .com domain name is not available, a .net version may be. You may also see .net when trying to find out how to buy a .com domain name. You can possibly get a .org domain, but this is not recommended unless you are an organization. Educational and governmental domains are also not likely to be up for commercial grabs. A .biz domain is very rarely seen, being intended for an use everyone with an internet connection sees. The .biz domain was essentially phased out as businesses took over the .com domain names.
With that said, you really should buy a com domain if it is feasible to do so. A .com domain is preferred by search engines, and are usually the first results seen. Governmental and educational sites will usually rank higher than a .com domain of the same name. Even then, a .com domain will invariably be in the search results. Search engines prefer to rank .coms as high as it possibly can. Going with a domain other than a .com or a .net could end up hurting your search rankings. If you don’t buy a .com domain name, you could end up wasting a lot of time and money you could have used in a more critical area of your business.
Unless it is truly impossible to do, one should always buy a com domain. One should always be bought so that they can be recognized by search engines in very little time, meaning more people will see it. This can mean more hits and, if running a business, more money for less time. You cannot go wrong with a .com domain. All you will see from your .com domain name is benefits.
